The Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien) kicked things off with an overview of the work and progress made since the last consortium meeting. The project’s three working groups “Recycling fines” (RF), “Recycling concrete” (RB) and “Recycling aggregates” (RG) then presented their preliminary results and the tests planned for the coming months.
The presentations by TU Wien were followed by the IBO (Institute for Building and Ecology) with a presentation on the latest life cycle analysis (LCA). This analysis evaluates the environmental impact of recycling materials and treatment methods over their entire life cycle and is an important step towards a holistic assessment of materials and methods.
Another highlight was the presentation by Neustark. It showed current possibilities for the carbonation of recycling material and presented both completed projects and projects currently under construction in which CO₂ is already being bound in recycling material.
Of course, there was also time for discussion and planning the next steps at the 4th consortium meeting, including finding a date for the 5th meeting.
We would like to thank ecoplus for organizing the consortium meeting.
